Email marketing
Mailing list providers
- Mailerlite (get $20 free credit with my link)
I switched to Mailerlite a couple of years ago which I’m loving. It’s intuitive and easy to use. A huge pro is that automations are included on the free plan which is great if you’re just starting out with email marketing. Paid plans are also priced well – you’ll need one for 500+ subscribers.

- Podia (can also use it for your website)
- MemberVault – interactive learner experience, great for courses plus communit(y/ies) (this is what I use, without a community)
- Circle.so – good for a community and/or for memberships or masterminds
- Skool – new community/membership platform, ‘hobby’ plan for $9/month (I’m trialing this October/November 2025)
- Systeme.io – lets you create and host one course for free
- ThriveCart Learn – payment platform that includes course hosting for paying customers
- Kartra – an all-in-one course/membership, sales funnels and email marketing platform
Digital Product sales carts
- ConvertKit – best known as an email marketing platform it also lets you sell offers for a <5% fee
- ThriveCart – excellent sales cart for a one-time fee – also comes with a free course platform ThriveCart Learn
- Skool‘s hobby plan let’s you sell for a 10% fee which isn’t too steep for low ticket offers (their premium plan has a lower fee)

I’ve had websites for nearly 20 years and I’ve been with a lot of hosts. Currently I’m with budget-friendly:
- GreenGeeks – prices from $2.95/month. I’m quite happy and not planning to move, but I do need to contact support every now and then. They do offer free site migration if you move from another host.
- Lyrical – prices from £13.99/month (approx $19). Set up specifically for bloggers and creative businesses, with allegedly great customer service.

Legal Protection
- Get legal templates for your business including an AI disclaimer, written by a real lawyer and avoid common legal mistakes!
